Bob's bio

Bob Rogers is an author, speaker, and volunteer Information Technology instructor.    Bob is a former army captain, paratrooper, and combat veteran of the Vietnam War.  His Alma Mater is South Carolina State University. He is a member-at-large of the 9th and 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association.

Today, he writes historical fiction and speaks to fulfill his goal of “entertaining to educate.”  His characters are ordinary people – privates, corporals, and sergeants – who struggle to love and live through the turmoil of war.  During and after his thirty-three year sojourn at IBM, Bob created curricula and taught gratis computer classes for the young and aged persons on the wrong side of the digital divide.

Bob and his wife have a daughter, four sons, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, and six grandchildren.  He and his wife tend their spring and fall gardens in Charlotte, North Carolina.

  • To educate generations… in body, mind, and spirit.
  • To arouse remembrance and optimism… through my brand and my actions.
  • To make a difference… everywhere I engage.”

"The light of fiction illuminates the past recorded in seldom read 'real' history books. Buffalo Soldier Isaac Rice's epic dramatizes both horror and humor in our history."
